I finally know what I need to be writing!
Dear Diverse Friends,
I have spent these past weeks wondering which direction I’d like to go with my writing (that’s a lot of words starting with “w”).
I realized that emulating the blogs I admire on Substack (specifically, ErinintheMorning and Letters from an American) would be possible if I weren’t working full-time and a parent. Also, the goal of breaking down articles supporting transgender mental healthcare means not only long hours but also living in a time when there’s no convincing people with closed minds, especially those not in appreciation of science.
My thought is this: I realized that, although there are a lot of news sources delivering important updates regarding transgender issues that are upsetting, I’m not seeing much advising us how to get through these tough times with our mental health intact.
In that vein, I’d like to offer short, supportive posts that help give comfort and something positive to focus on to help get through difficult days.
If you have any questions or suggestions for topics, let me know. I’m trying to connect with people in need of solace in these trying times.
Stay safe!
Tovi

I work in the trans mental health space, too, but from a public health research and advocacy side. I also try to inform, but also connect, and share trans joy and thriving through these incredibly horrific times. Glad I found you!
